Cake Love

August 15, 2012 by weddingsar

We were in for a big treat when these fabulous cakes started showing up at our studio the day of our spring/summer issue photo shoot. After lots of calls and meetings with these talented bakery owners discussing trends and ideas, we were thrilled with the inspiring wedding cakes we got to include in this issue. Grab a piece of cake, pull up a chair and enjoy!  {photography by Nancy Nolan}

All lined up and ready for their photo shoot. Our streamers had an encore moment and came back after starring in our fashion spread seen here. All the colors used on the cakes coordinated with the pink, orange, mint, blue and yellow streamers. Aren’t they so pretty?!

Here are some close-ups for you…

{Sweet Love, Little Rock, (501) 613-7780, sweetlovebakes.com} Owner Kelli Marks made this chevron cake with silver modern monogram. Chevron has been such a hot trend and we LOVE it!

{Ambrosia, Hot Springs, (501)525-4500, ambrosiabakeryco.com} Millie Baron was great to work with and she had some great ideas for us. We loved the design she came up with!

{TracyCakes, Little Rock, (501) 227-4243, tracycakesar.com} Tracy runs a busy shop in West Little Rock and she created this beauty that ended up being on our cover!

{Mickey’s Special Affairs, Little Rock, (501) 221-1989, mickeysevents.com}  Mrs. Coleman is the sweetest and we loved the peach, pink and white striped cake she made for us. Those colors are just delicious.

A big thanks to everyone again! Give these pros a call to see what they can whip up for your wedding or special event.

garden petals

August 1, 2012 by weddingsar

The moment we saw these wedding bouquets we pictured them at a pretty outdoor garden wedding. Don’t you agree? They are so romantic and the first option even has vintage book pages as an accent. Thanks to Scott at Fairy Tale Florals who designed these creative bouquets for our spring/summer issue photo shoot. You can see which bouquet was used in the magazine online here. Today, we’ve also included a second option that you haven’t seen yet, along with some garden wedding inspiration. Thanks, Scott!

Here’s the second option that you didn’t see in our new issue, which includes a softer color palette, pretty vines and a touch of sparkle in the middle.
