from the new issue: berry bliss

December 4, 2012 by weddingsar

Our berry-inspired color palette included in our new issue is inspired by bordeaux and burgundy, two of fall’s hottest trends. We included shades of nature’s candy: blueberries, raspberries and blackberries to complete this palette. There is a lot of inspiration in this feature including cakes, desserts, invitations, flowers and more. See something you like? Let us know. A big thank you to the fabulous Arkansas vendors sourced below and also seen in our expanded digital edition. They are all amazing! Enjoy!

new look + expanded digital edition is online

November 13, 2012 by weddingsar

Ever since we completed our new oh-so-southern fall/winter issue, we immediately starting working on our expanded digital edition. We added 20 pages of content, including more inspiration images, as well as, more real weddings and fashion images not seen in our print edition. We have been busy little wedding bees around the Weddings in Arkansas office.

We also updated our home page with fresh images right out of the new issue.  Every morning I have checked to see if they are up yet, and this morning I got to see these beautiful images gracing our site…

New cover image, which links directly to our digital edition features a simple Arkansas rice bouquet and is shown with a lovely Allure slip dress with charmeuse lining and a cathedral-length illusion veil from Low’s Bridal & Formal in Brinkley. Layered pearl necklaces and bracelets from Sissy’s Log Cabin add the perfect Southern touch. (More details on all these items seen on our cover are listed in our fashion pages.)

If you click on “Our Wedding Blog” the slider switches to this view…

Click on this image to go to our blog, which is full of wedding ideas and inspiration. The dress seen here is the Bernadette by Maggie Sottero with intricate lace detail, Swarovski crystals, keyhole back from The Bridal Cottage in North Little Rock. The 18-karat white gold mother-of-pearl, topaz and diamond vine pendant is from Romance Diamond Company in Fayetteville. Last but not least, Cabbage Rose Florist in Little Rock created a gorgeous Southern bouquet for us highlighted with guinea feathers and tied with a natural burlap tile overlay. (More details on all these items seen here are listed in our fashion pages.)

Click on magazine on our bar across the top to flip thru the pages of our digital edition! You can turn the pages in this view or you can click on fullscreen for even better viewing.

Have fun looking through our updated site and expanded issue. There are lots of Southern details we know you’ll love.

Cake Love

August 15, 2012 by weddingsar

We were in for a big treat when these fabulous cakes started showing up at our studio the day of our spring/summer issue photo shoot. After lots of calls and meetings with these talented bakery owners discussing trends and ideas, we were thrilled with the inspiring wedding cakes we got to include in this issue. Grab a piece of cake, pull up a chair and enjoy!  {photography by Nancy Nolan}

All lined up and ready for their photo shoot. Our streamers had an encore moment and came back after starring in our fashion spread seen here. All the colors used on the cakes coordinated with the pink, orange, mint, blue and yellow streamers. Aren’t they so pretty?!

Here are some close-ups for you…

{Sweet Love, Little Rock, (501) 613-7780, sweetlovebakes.com} Owner Kelli Marks made this chevron cake with silver modern monogram. Chevron has been such a hot trend and we LOVE it!

{Ambrosia, Hot Springs, (501)525-4500, ambrosiabakeryco.com} Millie Baron was great to work with and she had some great ideas for us. We loved the design she came up with!

{TracyCakes, Little Rock, (501) 227-4243, tracycakesar.com} Tracy runs a busy shop in West Little Rock and she created this beauty that ended up being on our cover!

{Mickey’s Special Affairs, Little Rock, (501) 221-1989, mickeysevents.com}  Mrs. Coleman is the sweetest and we loved the peach, pink and white striped cake she made for us. Those colors are just delicious.

A big thanks to everyone again! Give these pros a call to see what they can whip up for your wedding or special event.

pink & peach: two bouquets

June 6, 2012 by weddingsar

There are lots of bright and beautiful colors throughout our new spring/summer issue online here. Tanarah Luxe Floral is one of the amazing floral designers that we worked with on this issue. Here is the bouquet that she created for our photo shoot. Plus, a bonus bouquet you haven’t seen yet!

Tanarah mixed it up and added pops of yellow in the second bouquet.

So, do you love these color combos as much as we do? We couldn’t get enough of this lovely pink & peach combo, so we found some more pretty images just for Y-O-U. Enjoy!
