Samantha + Alex
Little Rock // 6.3.23
Samantha Partington-Farrow met her groom, Alex Cope, at a house party years prior to their actual first date. While Samantha was living in Australia, Alex messaged her to ask for a date to get sushi when she was back in the States. She held him to it, and on that first date they hit it off. After four years of dating, the two were planning a trip to the U.K. to see—and for Alex to meet—Samantha’s extended family. He was also planning to propose on this trip during a stop in Barcelona, Spain. “It was stressful left and right,” Alex recalls, noting the ring arrived just before they were scheduled to leave with little time for him to hide it. Luckily, Samantha was overjoyed to say “yes” and the two began planning their dream wedding.
With Samantha having family abroad and Alex’s relatives traveling from across the South, their hometown (and current city) of Little Rock seemed an ideal location for the nuptials. With the help of Taylor Hight with Amanda Reed Weddings, they began planning a late spring celebration at the Country Club of Little Rock that included a theme of blue and white, from the invitations to the bridesmaids’ dresses and the flowers.
The couple tearfully exchanged vows they had written for one another with their guests seated in a radiating circle around them on the club’s lawn. After they were pronounced husband and wife, guests made their way indoors for a dinner of Southern favorites. Following one final, private spin around the dance floor, the couple exited through a tunnel of well-wishers tossing flowers and streamers from party poppers. After a trip to Thailand, they are at home in Little Rock.
Samantha wanted a palette of white and blue for the floral arrangements. She selected traditional standbys like roses and hydrangeas but gave the floral designers at Tipton & Hurst free rein to create a magical setting.
We’re Big Fans
With the ceremony being held outdoors in early June, the couple gave each guest a paper fan in the day’s colors of blue and white.
Seal the Deal
Light blue wax seals held seating assignments to an acrylic board set against a hydrangea background, which mimics the fresh blooms seen through the celebration.
A clay figure of the couple’s dog, Charlie, sat atop the bride’s cake as a nod to their beloved furry friend.
Pick Your Pattern
Wanting something different than standard, solid-hued bridesmaid dresses, Samantha looked for blue and white patterned options. “My matron of honor sent me this dress from Reformation, and I fell in love. I immediately knew it was the one.”
