With Moss Mountain Farm as the backdrop, local wedding professionals create a down-to-earth yet elegant inspirational wedding scene
If there’s one thing our state graciously gives us, it’s the beauty and divinity of its natural landscape. P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain Farm certainly celebrates this gift. Through a warm color palette and organic florals, Jessica Zimmerman of ZIMMERMAN along with a team of talented Arkansas wedding industry professionals created a luxurious experience highlighting natural elements and scenic views in this dreamy wedding inspiration shoot.
“Nestled along the Arkansas River is P. Allen Smith’s garden home, Moss Mountain Farm, a magical place known for promoting education and conservation, as well as experiencing what the land provides us. I simply wanted to work with the beauty of the natural landscape, allowing it to control the direction for my design,” Zimmerman says. Playing off the landscape, she further describes this vision, “I share in Smith’s desire to let the land be his inspiration, so I wanted to create a moment that embodied what his farm has inspired in me, celebrating all that is organic and pure.”
Creating an intimate ceremony setting and a dinner-party-style reception, the color palette was pulled from the lush surroundings and varying textures in the garden and farm. “I started off with a warm, soft color palette that effortlessly reflects the environment. I chose warm rust tones to tuck inside the florals, echoing the shades of the garden plants and the brick walls,” Zimmerman notes. “The color palette was chosen to seamlessly coexist with the flora and architecture. I didn’t want anything to distract from the natural beauty of the surroundings,” she adds.
Zimmerman’s muse of nature left no detail untouched in creating a full-body experience from sight to sound to taste. “I wanted everything from the groom’s boutonnière to the cuisine to express the rich heritage and organic nature of the farm.” A large farm table seats guests and seems a natural fit to further the ambience. “Platters of farm-to-table courses were served on the simple cheesecloth runner that adorned the table. Soft, bistro style lighting was strung overhead transforming the garden party into a romantic evening,” Zimmerman adds.
