Natalie + Kevin
Leachville // May 5, 2018
For Natalie Lipsky and Kevin Hulett, what started as a junior high crush between two friends ending up leading to a lifetime of togetherness. Natalie and Kevin met in eighth grade at Brookland Junior High and became instant friends, often writing and reading notes to one another, then began dating junior year. After five years of dating, Kevin knocked on Natalie’s door, flowers in hand, with an extra special note to read. “He told me different qualities he wanted in a wife and how I met all of those qualities. He shared what the Bible says about marriage and read a few verses to me, and then got down on one knee,” Natalie says. After accepting his proposal, the couple celebrated their joy with their families, and the planning began.
Natalie had dreamt of an outdoor wedding with an abundance of flowers and close family and friends. After seeing pictures of Bo Adams Estate in Leachville, she knew she had to see it in person. “After one visit, I was sold,” she says. The open, airy setting became the backdrop for the couple’s special day.
Before guests arrived, Natalie and Kevin made sure to have a few quiet moments together. “My favorite memory of the day was when Kevin and I shared our vows with each other alone before the ceremony. It was a sweet, emotional time that was special for both of us,” Natalie says. Following the of special ceremony, the couple invited guests to an early evening traditional Southern meal followed by treats from a s’mores bar and, of course, cake. The bride’s cake featured vanilla and strawberry layers in each slice and was accented with fresh oral that coordinated with the day’s garden theme. The groom had his own chocolate and peanut butter confection to share with guests. At the end of the night, the newlyweds exited through a tunnel of sparklers held by well- wishers and loved ones.
Comfortable shoes meant Natalie could spend hours on the dance floor with her guests.
WEDDING STYLE
Natalie describes the couple’s big day as “elegant, Southern, and inspired by a garden.” “I envisioned a small outdoor wedding with lots of flowers and a very natural feel, where we were surrounded by all our family and friends,” she adds.
“I knew exactly the wedding cake I wanted, and no matter how many other designs and cakes I looked at, I never swayed from my wedding cake,” Natalie says of the four-tiered confection. Kevin had a chocolate groom’s cake with peanut butter frosting and crushed candy toppings.
